Privacy Policy
Last updated ·
This is the canonical Vel Nest Games privacy policy for the studio website and the exact game editions listed below. The edition matrix controls which capability modules apply. It is designed so an edition never inherits advertising, purchases, XR processing, accounts, or another practice merely because a different Vel Nest Games product uses it.
Who we are and how to read this policy
Vel Nest Games is the developer and publisher responsible for the studio-controlled processing described here. “We”, “our”, and “us” mean Vel Nest Games. This policy covers the public websites and only the product/platform editions shown in the matrix.
A mapped edition receives only the modules printed in its row. A module omitted from a mapped row does not apply to that edition based on the current technical audit. A verification-required row is different: its omissions are unknowns, not claims that the capabilities are absent, and that profile must be completed before this shared policy is used as its publication declaration.
Store-submission privacy answers remain per app and package. Google Play Data Safety forms, Meta Data Use Checkups, age/audience declarations, and equivalent store forms must be completed and maintained separately; this website matrix does not replace or narrow them.
Product and edition applicability matrix
Use the product title, platform/store, and package or public identifier to select the correct row, then read only the modules named in that row. The detailed module sections automatically list the same mapped editions. “Audit mapped” records the current technical review; it is not a claim of formal legal certification.

Advertising and consent: Google AdMob + UMP
Applies to: Grid Patch — Google Play edition; Arrow Jam — Google Play edition; Sock Sort — Google Play edition
Editions mapped to this module request ads directly from Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) for consent and privacy choices. They do not use a separate third-party mediation network in the audited configuration.
Google Mobile Ads may automatically collect or share an IP address, which can indicate a general location; app launches, ad views, taps, and other product interactions; diagnostic and performance information; and device or account identifiers such as the Android advertising ID and app-set ID. Google describes these uses as including advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. This provider processing is separate from a Vel Nest Games analytics system.
Where required, UMP obtains or refreshes the applicable consent choice before ad requests are allowed and exposes a Privacy Choices entry. Device-level advertising controls remain available in Android settings. The exact ad treatment can be personalised, non-personalised, limited, or technical-delivery advertising according to location, age treatment, consent, and platform settings.
Edition details
- Grid Patch — Google Play edition
- Uses Google Mobile Ads directly with Google demand and UMP; no third-party ad mediation was found.
- Arrow Jam — Google Play edition
- Uses Google Mobile Ads directly with Google demand and UMP; no third-party ad mediation was found.
- Sock Sort — Google Play edition
- Uses Google Mobile Ads directly with Google demand and UMP; no third-party ad mediation was found.
Store purchases and in-app entitlements
Applies to: Grid Patch — Google Play edition; Arrow Jam — Google Play edition
Editions mapped to this module use Google Play for in-app purchases. Google Play handles the payment account and payment-card details; Vel Nest Games does not receive or store the card number. The game receives product information, purchase status, and store transaction evidence needed to unlock, restore, and maintain the purchased entitlement.
Google Play may process account, country, transaction, order, purchase-token, device, security, and diagnostic information under Google’s policies. An edition uses Unity In-App Purchasing only when its edition detail below says so; that SDK is not inherited by other editions.
Edition details
- Grid Patch — Google Play edition
- Connects directly to Google Play BillingClient, without Unity IAP.
- Offers optional remove-ads subscriptions and a one-time lifetime entitlement.
- Stores derived entitlement status, cached product information, and hashed fulfilment evidence locally; no separate Vel Nest Games purchase-verification server was found.
- Arrow Jam — Google Play edition
- Uses Unity In-App Purchasing 5.4.1 as the client-side connection to Google Play.
- Unity IAP may process country or approximate location, installation, player, device, and session identifiers, purchase history, and diagnostics needed to provide and analyse the purchase service; its SDK transport is encrypted in transit.
- The technical audit established IAP support but did not establish a current public catalogue of purchase products or subscription intervals.
Paid-upfront access and Meta entitlement checking
Applies to: Grid Patch — Meta Quest edition
An edition mapped to this module requires an upfront store entitlement. Advertising and in-app purchases are separate capabilities and apply only if their own modules also appear in that edition’s row. At launch, the Meta Platform service checks whether the current platform account is entitled to use the app. The app receives the success or failure of that check.
Meta Horizon OS, the Meta Horizon Store, and Meta Platform services may process their own account, entitlement, device, system configuration, network, security, error, and transaction data under Meta’s policies. The edition detail below states whether the app requests any Meta account profile or social fields.
Edition details
- Grid Patch — Meta Quest edition
- Initialises Meta Platform services and checks paid-app entitlement only.
- Receives the success or failure of the ownership check and does not request a Meta User ID, username, profile photo, friends list, or other account-profile fields.
Analytics and diagnostics
Applies to: Grid Patch — Google Play edition; Arrow Jam — Google Play edition; Grid Patch — Meta Quest edition; Sock Sort — Google Play edition
This module records the audited analytics and diagnostics status of each mapped edition. “No enabled studio analytics or crash SDK” does not mean that the app store, advertising SDK, purchase SDK, operating system, or platform processes no diagnostic or service data. Those providers may still process interaction, performance, security, fraud-prevention, and error information for their own services.
Edition details
- Grid Patch — Google Play edition
- No enabled Firebase Analytics, Unity Analytics, or cloud diagnostics integration was found. AdMob and Google Play can still process their own service data.
- Arrow Jam — Google Play edition
- No enabled separate analytics or crash-reporting SDK was found. AdMob, Google Play, and Unity IAP can still process their own service data.
- Grid Patch — Meta Quest edition
- No Vel Nest Games analytics service is enabled. Meta platform services can still process platform diagnostics, security, and service data.
- Sock Sort — Google Play edition
- No enabled separate analytics or crash-reporting SDK was found. AdMob and Google Play can still process their own service data.
Local saves and settings
Applies to: Grid Patch — Google Play edition; Grid Patch — Meta Quest edition
Editions mapped to this module keep the edition-specific progress, settings, and state listed below in the app’s local data area. That local processing does not by itself send the save to Vel Nest Games. Clearing app data or uninstalling normally removes the local copy, subject to any separately listed platform backup capability.
Edition details
- Grid Patch — Google Play edition
- Stores game progress and settings locally on the Android device.
- Grid Patch — Meta Quest edition
- Stores campaign progress, in-progress puzzle snapshots, tutorial state, board placement, comfort settings, and accessibility preferences locally on the headset.
Platform-managed backup
Applies to: Grid Patch — Meta Quest edition
An edition mapped to this module can be affected by backup or restore features operated by its platform. Vel Nest Games does not operate that backup service. Platform backup settings and retention are controlled under the platform provider’s account controls and policies, and a backup can restore app data after the local copy has been removed.
Edition details
- Grid Patch — Meta Quest edition
- Meta or headset backup features may retain or restore app data when enabled by the platform account or headset settings.
Cloud saves, accounts, and social features
Applies to: Grid Patch — Meta Quest edition
An edition mapped to this module does not use a Vel Nest Games account, studio cloud-save service, or studio social graph. A store ownership check is a separate platform function and does not, by itself, give the game access to profile or friends information.
Edition details
- Grid Patch — Meta Quest edition
- Has no Vel Nest Games account system, studio cloud save, or social feature. The Meta entitlement check is the only audited Platform account interaction.
XR tracking and passthrough
Applies to: Grid Patch — Meta Quest edition
Editions mapped to this module process the listed head, controller, or hand input transiently on the headset to render the view and support interaction. Transient processing still occurs even when the data is not retained or transmitted to Vel Nest Games.
For a mapped passthrough feature, the headset operating system composes the surroundings with the game. The exact edition detail states whether the app requests raw camera frames and whether it records, analyses, retains, or transmits room imagery.
Edition details
- Grid Patch — Meta Quest edition
- Processes OpenXR head, controller, and hand poses and selection state transiently on the headset to render and support interaction; the app does not retain or transmit that tracking data.
- Optional passthrough is off by default. Horizon OS composes the view; the app does not request raw camera frames and does not record, retain, analyse, or transmit room images or video.
Website theme preferences
Applies to: Vel Nest Games — Studio website; Vel Nest Games — Game store website
The Vel Nest Games website and store site save the selected light or dark theme in the browser’s localStorage under “vng-theme” and in a first-party “vng-theme” cookie. In production, that cookie is shared between velnestgames.com and store.velnestgames.com, uses SameSite=Lax, and expires after up to one year.
Edition details
- Vel Nest Games — Studio website
- Stores the light/dark theme value in localStorage and the shared first-party cookie.
- Vel Nest Games — Game store website
- Stores the light/dark theme value in localStorage and the shared first-party cookie.
Website contact form and update requests
Applies to: Vel Nest Games — Studio website
When a visitor submits the “Join the flock” form on the studio website, the site sends the entered email address, selected contact reason, and generated message to Web3Forms. Web3Forms forwards the submission to the studio inbox and may process ordinary connection and anti-abuse data needed to deliver and protect the form.
Vel Nest Games uses the contact-form details to answer the request or send the specific launch update the visitor asked for, not for unrelated advertising lists.
Edition details
- Vel Nest Games — Studio website
- The “Join the flock” form sends an email address, selected reason, and generated message to Web3Forms for inbox delivery.
Direct email contact
Applies to: Vel Nest Games — Studio website; Vel Nest Games — Game store website
The direct-contact and footer links open the visitor’s email app and try to copy the studio address to the local clipboard as a fallback. Nothing is sent to Vel Nest Games merely by activating the link. If the visitor sends an email, Vel Nest Games receives the sender address, message, and anything else the sender chooses to include and uses it to answer or support the request.
Edition details
- Vel Nest Games — Studio website
- The direct-contact and footer email links use the local mail app plus a clipboard fallback.
- Vel Nest Games — Game store website
- The shared footer email link uses the local mail app plus a clipboard fallback.
Website fonts
Applies to: Vel Nest Games — Studio website; Vel Nest Games — Game store website
The website loads typefaces from Google Fonts. A browser therefore connects to Google’s font servers, which can receive ordinary connection information such as the IP address, browser details, and the requested font resource.
Edition details
- Vel Nest Games — Studio website
- Requests DM Sans and Manrope from Google Fonts.
- Vel Nest Games — Game store website
- Requests DM Sans and Manrope from Google Fonts.
Why information is processed
Vel Nest Games and the mapped platforms or providers process only the information connected to an edition’s listed capabilities. The purposes are:
- to run the game or website feature the person requested;
- to save local progress and settings where that module is mapped;
- to check paid access, complete, restore, or maintain a store entitlement where mapped;
- to request, deliver, measure, and protect advertising and record privacy choices where mapped;
- to process XR input transiently for rendering and interaction where mapped;
- to answer contact requests and send the specific update a visitor requested;
- to prevent fraud, secure the service, meet legal obligations, and resolve support issues.
Platforms, SDKs, and providers
Vel Nest Games does not sell personal information. The following platforms and providers are present only in the mapped editions shown beside them. Their legal role can differ by feature and jurisdiction, and they also process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Vel Nest Games may disclose information when law genuinely requires it or to protect rights, safety, and service integrity.

International processing
The mapped stores, platforms, SDKs, contact provider, font provider, and hosting infrastructure can process information in countries other than the person’s own. Their privacy information describes their locations and transfer arrangements. Where Vel Nest Games controls an international transfer, it will use the safeguards required by applicable law.
Retention and deletion
For editions mapped to local saves, the listed progress, settings, and snapshots remain in app data until replaced, app data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled. Consent state is retained locally only for an edition mapped to advertising/UMP, and entitlement evidence only for an edition mapped to the relevant purchase or paid-entitlement module. A separately mapped platform backup can retain or restore a copy under that platform’s settings and policy.
The website theme remains in localStorage until it is changed or cleared, and the first-party theme cookie expires after up to one year. Contact-form submissions and direct-email messages remain in the studio inbox only as long as reasonably needed for the requested update, conversation, support record, security, or legal obligation.
Retention and deletion routes depend on each platform or provider’s role for the mapped feature. A request to Vel Nest Games covers information the studio controls and information a provider processes on the studio’s behalf; the studio will route a qualifying processor request when needed. Data a platform or provider controls independently may require use of that provider’s account or privacy controls.
Security
Vel Nest Games uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the limited information it controls. Store, advertising, platform, and contact-form connections use the transport protections provided by those services. No internet or storage system is perfectly secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Children’s privacy
Vel Nest Games does not intend the websites or audit-mapped editions in this policy to be directed to children under 13, or below the minimum digital-consent age where local law sets a higher age, and does not knowingly ask a child for personal information. This statement is not a package-level age declaration: every edition, especially a verification-required profile, must have its audience and store settings checked separately before publication. Where law or a store audience setting requires child-directed treatment, the available age and advertising protections must be configured for that edition and personalised ads must not knowingly be requested for a child.
A parent or guardian who believes a child sent personal information to Vel Nest Games can contact the studio for review and deletion.
Rights and choices
Depending on location, a person may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a privacy authority. Vel Nest Games will respond to requests about information it controls and may need enough information to verify and locate the request.
- Use an in-game Privacy Choices entry where UMP makes it available.
- Reset or delete the Android advertising ID in device settings.
- Manage purchases, refunds, and subscriptions in the applicable store account.
- Clear local app data, browser storage, cookies, or platform backup through the relevant device or account settings.
- Contact Vel Nest Games for information the studio controls or a provider processes on its behalf; use a platform or provider’s privacy controls for information it controls independently. The studio can help identify the right route.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated when a mapped capability, provider, product profile, or legal requirement changes. The current date appears at the top. Prior versions should be retained so the policy in effect for an earlier release can be identified.
Contact and deletion requests
Questions, privacy-rights requests, and requests to delete information controlled by Vel Nest Games can be sent directly to the studio. Include the product, platform edition, and enough detail to identify the request; do not send payment-card details or passwords.
